Thoughts on the Value of Graduate School

The first edition of the Design Reader series explores the value of graduate school. Part one features an essay by Jason Tselentis that was previously published on Speak Up by Under Consideration as well as comments from the blog's readers. There is also an article about the cost of school by Mark Cuban from Blog Maverick, both articles were used with permission from the respective authors. The next section features 14 interviews with graphic designers who have completed their MA, MFA and Phd studies at design graduate programs around the world. Though a Q+A format, the project investigates how they chose their courses, how expectations were met (or not), and how the experience impacted their careers.

The publication was created for POD (Print On Demand) as well as a downloadable PDF, with the aim of reaching the largest audience possible, as well as having a physical object for those who still prefer to read in print.
